Philadelphia

We were only in Philadelphia for one day so it was really crazy trying to see everything all over the whole city, and again it was freezing!  Like we woke up and it was 20 degrees outside.  Luckily for us we made it to our first stop and found out they had their city PHlash bus running for free all day, that day only. #blessings  We got to see Independence Hall, Ben Franklin's Grave, City Hall, the U.S. Mint and the Rocky Steps.
The U.S. Mint was really cool, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside or else you could basically get arrested, even though Luke forget and took some pictures.  I reminded him really fast not to take pictures and then I kept my distance in case security came and hauled him away.  But, it was so cool watching how they made coins, and the process of creating and choosing the designs, and the different designs that have been used through out history.
We checked out the Liberty Bell, and I know it is history and cool and everything but I was a little underwhelmed by it.  Anyway, I saw it so that was cool.  The funny/strange part about it was we were standing there admiring history and we saw someone from our ward back in Utah.  Man, we just keep running into people we know.  We talked to him for a while and caught up, then we went and checked out the city.  We found a cool little park that had a bunch of over sized game pieces, like monopoly, dominoes, checkers.  It was really cute.
All the history stuff was really interesting, but my favorite thing were the Rocky Steps.  I didn't go up the steps, my knees were KILLING me, but I think I got the best deal.  Luke and Truman ran (slowly) up, Truman was even wearing a grey hoodie so it was super cute.  There was even another couple who recorded him going up because, you know, Truman is the cutest thing in the world!  Anyway, it was so funny because it was just a bunch of boys/guys/men running up the steps (or just part because there are A LOT of steps) and their girlsfriends/wives/moms filming them.  It was hilarious!  There was even a car that pulled up to the museum, and a 60 something year old man got out of the car and gave his wife his phone to record him running up the steps with his arms up.  It was great.

We walked to the Philadelphia Temple after all of that and we ran into our Provo friend again, it was funny to keep running into him.  As we are walking up to the temple there were two little old ladies sitting on a bench looking at the temple.  I asked them to take a picture of us and one of them volunteered...I should have known better.  She kept 'taking pictures' and then getting confused because the phone would turn off every time she 'took a picture' and then once she finally took a real picture of us I looked at it and that is it, just a picture of us.  Then she asks 'Oh, did you want this building in the background', I said yes and then she told us the lighting was bad so we should face the opposite direction without the temple in the back...it was a fiasco.

Our friends used to live in Phili so they gave us the locals guide to food, which was Reading Market for Amish Doughnuts.  Ummm...AMAZING!  This is Truman yelling at us when we tried to take the doughnut box away.
